Eriksen Talks-Up Tottenham Move After Asking Vertonghen About Life At WHL
With the summer transfer window in full swing, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Christian Eriksen talks-up a move to Tottenham.
Ajax attacker Christian Eriksen has talked up a potential move to Tottenham but claims there has been no contact from the north Londoners, according to talkSPORT.
With just one year left on his current contract and no sign of an extension being signed, Eriksen has been hotly tipped to leave Ajax this summer and the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool have been strongly linked with a move.
The 21-year-old has now been quoted as saying that while he’s unsure whether he’ll leave Ajax this summer he may fancy a move to White Hart Lane after speaking to former team-mate Jan Vertonghen, but insists he’s yet to hear anything from Andre Villas-Boas’ men.
“Tottenham are a great club, I know from [Jan] Vertonghen that it is a good club which is interesting, but there has not been any contact.
“I do not know if I am going to leave Ajax. We’ll find out in two weeks.
“There are to my knowledge no negotiations right now either with a new club or Ajax.
“If there is a good approach [from another club], I see as an opportunity to try something new, but if nothing comes, I do not mind staying.”
Andre Villas-Boas has been busy in the transfer market already bringing in Roberto Soldado, Paulinho and Nacer Chadli this summer while a deal for midfielder Etienne Capoue is also understood to be close to completion, so it remains to be seen whether he’ll want to sign another attacker and make a move for Eriksen, but it seems the youngster would be open to a move to north London if the opportunity arose.
