Arsenal Open Talks Over Stunning £70m Triple Swoop

By on August 30, 2013

As we enter the final stages of the summer transfer window, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Arsenal eye £70m triple swoop.

Karim-Benzema

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has opened talks with Real Madrid over a stunning triple swoop that would see him blow his entire £70m budget on Karim Benzema, Angel Di Maria and Mesut Ozil, according to the Daily Mail.

It’s been a hugely frustrating summer at the Emirates with the club yet to bring in any significant new additions other than the free signings of Yaya Sanogo and Mathieu Flamini.

Wenger has always maintained he wanted to sign top quality talent this summer to compliment his squad and the Mail claim he’s opened talks with Madrid and has received encouragement that a sensational £70m triple deal could be on.

All three players have publicly committed their future’s to Real in recent days and have insisted they don’t want to leave, but the decision could be taken out of their hands with the newspaper suggesting that the La Liga giants are listening to offers as they try and raise money to fund their record move for Gareth Bale.

The Welshman’s proposed move to the Bernabeu is still to be completed though and Real are reluctant to sell before the Bale deal is finalised, meaning Arsenal are going to have to sit tight before they can progress with trying to sign any of the Madrid trio.

It leaves Wenger playing a dangerous game that could backfire if the Bale deal drags until deadline day. Should that happen, Arsenal face the very real possibility of missing out on any major signing this summer.  This scenario doesn’t bare thinking about and I dread to think what kind of backlash Wenger would be in for if it came to fruition.

The squad is clearly in need of some major investment and an already thin squad has been stretched further by long-term injuries to Mikel Arteta, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Lukas Podolski – who was yesterday ruled out for up to 10 weeks with a hamstring injury.

The current group of players are well short of being capable of challenging for top honours this season and getting out of the group stages of the Champions League is going to be a tough ask in it’s self after we were drawn in a ‘group of death’ along with Borussia Dortmund, Marseille and Napoli.

So there is no doubt several new faces are required and all of Benzema, Ozil and Di Maria would be superb additions, but time is running out and Wenger is playing a dangerous game that could end in disaster if the cards don’t fall our way.

“The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist.” Has the Board and Wenger pulled a Keyser Soze on the fans and fooled us all into thinking there was ever £70 million transfer fund for players? They’ve spent nothing whilst most of the other teams have, even newly promoted Cardiff City have spent £30M on players, can you believe it! It’s a disgrace how the club is being run more like business than a football club aiming to win trophies.

It just shows they have no ambition or motivation to return to the glory days. We will always be playing catch up with Man U, City and Chelsea if money isn’t invested in new signings and will continue to struggle to even finish 4th. Our 1st team is good and could beat anyone on their day, but it’s not about winning one or two games, Cardiff has even shown anyone can be beaten on a given day, it’s about consistency and maintaining form which Man U showed last season when they weren’t the greatest side but kept on winning to clinch the title. And for that you need a proper squad of 1st team players, it’s just amazing the fans can see what needs to be done and not the club itself!

I have good reason to believe the real transfer bids happened before and after the Champions league group stage draws. owners, reps, and managers were there in Monaco to do more than watching where the balls bearing their club’s name would lie. If Arsenal made a triple bid for the Real Madrid clear out, i have reason to believe it to be true, if they can leave with 1 or 2 galacticos to join the squad, this will count as a major coup, the news is that Ozil, Di maria, Casillas, Benzema are being sold by the club, add Kaka who wants to leave Real Madrid as well, and it makes the Anzhi sale look tame in comparison, and it makes Arsenal the big winner in the Tottenham-Real Madrid-Arsenal transfer triangle. Tottenham will end up having to spend more on player wages, Real Madrid will have a clear out for who they want, and Arsenal gets a couple of world class signings that’ll make them contenders for any competition or the league cup at the very least.

if the trade doesn’t go through, the biggest loser will be Tottenham for not selling Bale, and having to spend too much for the players they got, and they’ll end up in the red for the huge increase on their wage budget that will keep them from competing in Euro competitions next year under the Financial Fair Play rules.

Wow, so this has been Arsenal’s strategy all summer, wait until Real Madrid buy Bale so they have to sell their players to fund the move! They should have brought in other signings ages ago and now have no more realistic targets to go for!

The fact that this is reported by the Daily Mail means that there is no truth in it. It’s obviously in the Spuds interest to delay the Bale transfer until the last second to frustrate any Arsenal pursuit of these t.hree players. I just hope they screw up and miss the deadline and end up with a disaffected Bale as well as the bunch of second rate recruits they’ve assembled during the window and a mountain of debt and an FFP investigation.

It is realy frustrating that a newly promoted club like Cardiff City are more ambitious than Arsenal Fc. We need more squad depth. This is an obvious fact. The Board and all decision makers must wake up from their slumber. Champions league draw is an eye-opener!

I rate this rumour similar to that of Rooney & Suarez Wenger is just keeping Arsenal fans busy with rumour linking the club with what would be like the best buys, whereas he is planning for academy purchases on the deadline day….

I hav to believe the guy who said the board did not budget 70 million pounds on transfer.imagine arsene wenger disgracing himself targetting all the players on earth without any signing, waiting every last the of the season before he can buy addition to the team.mr wenger and his boards dont have anything to offer in terms of helping the team to win trophies but are after the money they will make for there selfish interest.decieving the fans the want to buy three madrid players using bale as an excuse.two days or three to go and we have an injury prone team and nothing has been done to help the fit players.what if carzola and walcott get injured.wenger and his stupid boards may have taking oaths somewhere.if this club fails to sign a player a player after selling off key players then wenger should prepare to exit the emirates before we find ourselves fighting for top ten.im unhappy and so angry because it seems this wenger has no respect for his fans.a stitch in time saves nine.mr wenger,mr wenger what is your problem.

Truly the grup tht arsenal are put in is an eye opener they need serious depth in their sqaud coz if they continue with this team its a guarantee tht this season is over fo them no cup is goin to be up for grabs, their team lacks tht kind of tryker whose hungry fo goals,on the issue of the trio their biddin fo hop it wil work out fo them, after tht win ova fernebahce they must not pet their selves on the back sayn here we cme.players need to cme in and its high time wenger challanges fo silver ware,u cn see tht relegated wigan is better than arsenal atleast they won the f.a cup, wenger needs to put the club bak to glory days!!!!
