Tottenham Hotspur kick off the group stages of the Europa League on Thursday night when they welcome Norwegian outfit Tromso IL to White Hart Lane.

Ahead of the match, boss Andre Villas-Boas has given the clubs official website a team news and injury update with the latest on the fitness of Nacer Chadli, Aaron Lennon and Etienne Capoue.

Winger Chadli made the move to north London in the summer from FC Twente and has made a positive start to life in England but was forced to sit out Saturday’s 2-0 win over Norwich City due to a small adductor muscle injury and the problem is set to once again keep him out of tomorrow’s match.

Fellow summer signing Capoue picked up a nasty ankle injury during defeat to Arsenal earlier this month and he, along with winger Lennon, will remain on the sidelines.

Here’s what AVB told TottenhamHotspur.com:

“He’s making good progress, so hopefully we’ll see him involved again soon,”

“The rest of the players apart from Lennon and Capoue have trained. The team is ready for the challenge.”

Spurs will be hoping to get off to a positive start on Thursday night against Tromso and they will go into the game as heavy favourites despite missing their three midfielders.
