Tottenham Hotspur welcome London rivals Chelsea to White Hart Lane on Saturday lunchtime looking to continue their excellent start to the new season.

Boss Andre Villas-Boas has been speaking to the media today and gave TottenhamHotspur.com a team news and injury update ahead of the game with the latest on the fitness of Danny Rose, Younes Kaboul, Aaron Lennon and Etienne Capoue.

There is positive news on full-back Rose, who enjoyed a superb start to the season before picking up a foot injury against Tromso in the Europa League last week. The problem kept him out of recent wins over Cardiff and Aston Villa but Villas-Boas says there is a 90% chance he’ll be return to face Chelsea.

Winger Lennon is also on the verge of a comeback from a foot problem and is expected to return to training either on Friday or Monday, however, centre-back Kaboul remains a doubt with a muscle injury also picked up last week.

Midfielder Capoue has been on the sidelines since being forced off against Arsenal earlier this month with an ankle injury but AVB has revealed the Frenchman will be back in contention after next months international break.

Villas-Boas told the clubs official website today:

“For Danny, there is a 90 per cent chance that he will make the game, so that gives us options down that flank,”

“Aaron will be back with the team either tomorrow or on Monday, and that’s a great addition with what he represents,”

“Etienne will return for the games after the international break.”

So it’s mostly positive news for Spurs as they prepare to take on Chelsea. A win for the north Londoners would see them move clear at the top of the table and put pressure on current league leaders Arsenal, who face Swansea at the Liberty Stadium later in the day.

We’ll have the latest Chelsea team news up on the site when we get it.

Now we’ve seen the team news, what would be your preferred starting line-up for the game? Share your views below.
