By on September 28, 2013

Chelsea came from a goal down to earn a hard fought point at White Hart Lane against London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs took the lead in the 19th minute when Roberto Soldado played in Gylfi Sigurdsson and the midfielder made no mistake for 1-0. Chelsea introduced Juan Mata at half time and it seemed to turn the game in the visitors favour with the Spaniard sending in an excellent free-kick which was met by the head of John Terry for 1-1.

Chelsea were the better side and pushing for a winner until their momentum was blunted when Fernando Torres was harshly sent off late on for a second yellow card late on. It ended 1-1 and Spurs move a point clear at the top of the table.
