Karim Benzema has responded to talk of a move to Chelsea by insisting he will continue to give his all for Real Madrid despite being booed by his own supporters recently, according to talkSPORT.

The French hitman has been at Madrid since making the move from Lyon in 2009 and has gone on to score 91 goals and provide 51 assists in 192 games for the La Liga giants so far.

The 25-year-old was given a vote of confidence from new manager Carlo Ancelotti that he was Madrid’s No.1 striker this season following the sale of Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli. But Benzema has not started the season well, scoring just 2 goals in 7 games, and has been booed by his own fans during recent matches leading to question marks over his future at the Bernabeu.

Chelsea have been strongly linked with a move for the France international in recent days with reports suggesting Jose Mourinho is set to raid his former club in January in a bid to solve his striker crisis.

However, when quizzed about the speculation Benzema, insisted he has no problem at Madrid and will continue to give his all for the club:

“There is no problem for me, so I just have to keep working,” Benzema said.

“I am calm – the most important thing is to play. I need to defend more – I get the public message.

“I will continue to give my all.” Benzema was quoted as saying by talkSPORT

Chelsea currently have three senior strikers on their books namely Samuel Eto’o, Fernando Torres and Demba Ba, but all three are struggling for form in front of goal so far this season with the trio yet to register a single goal between them.

If this poor form continues it’s highly likely that Mourinho will be on the look-out for a striker in January, but it appears he may have to look elsewhere as Benzema is content to stay at the Bernabeu, despite his criticism from his own supporters.
