Mesut-Ozil-Arsenal

Arsenal secured a 4-1 win over Norwich City at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon to move two points clear at the top of the table.

Here are my ratings from the game:

Szczesny 7/10

Another very good display from the Pole. Made an excellent save from a long-range Fer shot in the first half and also made a number of other decent stops during the ninety minutes.

Sagna 7/10

Put some dangerous crosses in the box in the first half and was relatively comfortable at the back. Although he might have felt he should have done more to stop the cross going in which led to the Norwich goal.

Mertesacker 7/10

Steady performance from the big German. Kept the Noriwch attack at bay for the most part but his sloppy clearance led to their goal.

Koscielny 7/10

Another solid performance from Kos. He made a couple of excellent slide tackles and was economical with his use of the ball.

Gibbs 6.5/10

Was keen to get forward and join the attacks but he lacked a final ball at times. Could also have done a little more in trying to stop Howson getting a shot off when he scored.

Arteta 6.5/10

Not his best game but is being over-shadowed by those around him. Still doesn’t look 100% fit to me and looked tired late on.

Flamini 6.5/10

Was having a fine game before he was forced off midway through the first half after a clash of heads. His loss disrupted us for the rest of the half.

Wilshere 8/10

Getting back to his best and he finished off one of the goals of the season with a cool finish. His interchange with Olivier Giroud in the build up to the opener was mesmerising. He’s nearing full fitness and worked hard to get back and help out the defence when needed.

Ozil 8.5/10

Just the two goals for Mesut today! Lovely header put us 2-0 ahead before he made it look easy to tap home from close range with a first time finish from Ramsey’s cut back. He makes the game look so effortless at times, and I still don’t think we’ve seen the best of him yet. Should also have got a late penalty for a blatant trip.

Cazorla 7/10

Looked a little rusty early on but came alive when his driving run and one-two helped set up the first goal. We saw glimpses of interchanges with Ozil and Wilshere, but I’m sure there’s more to come when he’s fully fit. Subbed after an hour.

Giroud 8.5/10

Excellent all-round display. His hold up play was superb and capped a fine afternoon with two stunning assists. The ball for Wilshere was sensational and his cross for Ozil wasn’t bad either.

Subs

Ramsey 8/10 – Was given a well-earned rest but came on for Flamini and grabbed another goal. This time it was a stunning solo effort that saw him turn the Norwich defence inside out before firing home. Also grabbed an assist after setting Ozil up late on for the fourth.

Rosicky 7/10 – Nice cross led to the fourth.

Bendtner 7/10 – Looked sharp in the 15 minutes he was on for. Almost scored with a well-hit drive but Ruddy was equal to it. Needs to have a shave though!
