Although the summer transfer window is officially closed that doesn’t stop clubs working hard behind the scenes to prepare for future signings, so we’ll keep you up-to-date with all the latest gossip. Today, Jorginho claims Arsenal and Chelsea are tracking him while Inter Milan are linked with Tottenham midfielder Sandro.

Jorginho claims interest

First up and the Express are carrying quotes from Hellas Verona winger Jorginho who claims that Arsenal and Chelsea are showing an interest in him.

The 21-year-old has been in impressive form in Serie A this season, helping Verona to a stunning start to the new campaign that currently sees them occupy fourth spot in the table.

Understandably, the attacker has attracted interest from a whole host of clubs throughout Europe and the player himself has claimed that scouts from Arsenal and Chelsea were in the stands to see him score twice against Parma on Sunday.

“In the match against Parma there were scouts from teams like Arsenal and Chelsea.

“Maybe if I keep playing well I can show exactly what I’m worth.” Jorginho is quoted as saying by the Express.

The Brazilian-born Italian under-21 international is central to Verona’s attacking play but manager Andrea Mandorlini has admitted it’s going to be difficult for the club to keep hold of the exciting winger. He said:

“I know, only too well, that it will be hard to keep the likes of Jorginho, but behind them we are already allowing others to grow and mature.

“We are making use of those youngsters who are given little space but who will have an important future for this club.” Mandorlini is quoted as saying by the Express.

Scouting players is nothing new and I’m sure the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea send scouts to watch a number of players each week, so while Jorginho may be on the London duo’s radar, there’s no guarantee either will follow up with a formal bid any time soon.

Inter eye Sandro

Next up and the Metro are reporting that Inter Milan are lining up a £6m January move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Sandro.

The report states that the Italians are planning to splash the cash when the transfer window re-opens with new owner Erick Thohir providing a sizable kitty for his boss to play with, and it appears Sandro has emerged as a prime target and a £6m offer is being lined-up.

The Metro claim that Spurs will resist any offers for the 24-year-old but suggest that Sandro could push for a move in search of regular action as he looks to secure a place in the Brazil squad at next summers World Cup.

The defensive midfielder has struggled to regain his first team place following a serious knee injury and is facing stiff competition from the likes of Paulinho, Mousa Dembele and Etienne Capoue for a spot in Andre Villas-Boas starting eleven.

£6m for Sandro? That would buy his left finger…..
Where do these rumours start? A bid like that would be laughed out of WHL ! Plus why would Spurs want to sell the best midfielder in the EPL in the combative holding mid roll?
    Last word – bollox!

Why does anyone believe the rubbish they churn out in the metro? Cheap, trashy journalism from a right wing rag.
