Tottenham take on FC Sheriff this evening looking to move closer to securing qualification to the knockout stages of the Europa League.

Spurs are well on course after successive victories over Tromso and Anzhi mean they head Group K on six points and could even seal qualification with another win tonight as long as Anzhi draw in the other fixture.

Ahead of the game boss Andre Villas-Boas gave Tottenhamhotspur.com a team news update and confirmed that although three players have been left back in north London, he has taken a strong squad with him to Moldova.

Paulinho, Andros Townsend and Kyle Walker have all been given a breather and remain in England, but forgotten striker Emmanuel Adebayor has made the trip and could be given a rare start up front.

AVB told the clubs official website:

“The squad has responded well to rotation,”

“We have left three players at home – Andros, Kyle Walker and Paulinho – but we have still brought a very strong squad.”

“The players will embrace this game with that motivation and they have been excellent so far in this competition,”

The north Londoners will continue to be without the services of midfielder Etienne Capoue who is still recovering from an ankle injury, while Younes Kaboul and Danny Rose are also still working their way back to full fitness following thigh and foot injuries.
