Arsenal and Chelsea have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Robert Lewandowski with the news that Manchester United boss David Moyes has ended the clubs interest in the striker, according to the Daily Star.

The Polish hitman is in the final year of his contract and will be able to discuss a free transfer summer move with foreign clubs as of January 1st, and the newspaper claims that Arsenal, Chelsea and United have all been linked with a move.

European champions Bayern Munich have previously been tipped to win the race for the 25-year-old’s signature but Lewandowski dismissed speculation he had already agreed to move to the Allianz Arena and hinted he would like to try his luck in England.

‘I will be able to sign a contract (with any club) in January, but I have never said that I will sign a contract with Bayern,’

‘It was a misunderstanding. It is true I had an opportunity to speak with Sir Alex Ferguson (last year), but we didn’t mention the transfer.

‘One day I would like to play in Premier League. It would be a great experience.’ Lewandowski is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail

Reports last week suggested that Dortmund might be prepared to cash in on the striker and sell him to a Premier League club for just £7m this January to prevent him from joining Bayern on a free transfer in the summer.

However, Arsenal and Chelsea’s hopes of landing the prolific forward have been boosted with the Star claiming that champions Manchester United are no longer in the running as David Moyes does not feel a player such as Lewandowski is required at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils were strongly linked with the Poland international in the summer of 2012 and were understood to have seen an £18m bid turned down before eventually signing Robin van Persie from Arsenal.
