By on November 2, 2013

Newcastle United dealt a blow to Chelsea’s title hopes with an impressive 2-0 win at St James’ Park on Saturday afternoon.

After a goalless first half, the home side opened the scoring when Gouffran was on hand to head home a Cabaye free kick in the 68th minute before Loic Remy sealed the game with a second just before the end. The loss means Chelsea miss the chance to move above Arsenal in the league table but Newcastle move up to ninth, level on points with Man Utd.

Mata- more effective than Oscar who enjoyed 90mins. Luiz- error of rotation. Lampard- obviously getting too much undue preference. Mou- confused substitution. Schrulle for Oscar, Mikel for Lampard, Cahill for Luiz could have made a difference.
