England manager Roy Hodgson has named his latest squad for the upcoming friendlies against Chile and Germany, as confirmed by theFC.com.

The big news is that Southampton have been rewarded for their excellent start to the season with three players being included in the 28-man squad. Rickie Lambert is once again included but Jay Rodriguez and Adam Lallana have also been handed call-ups.

Arsenal’s Kieran Gibbs has been rewarded for his fine form as well and joins team mate Jack Wilshere in the squad despite the fact the midfielder is currently out with an ankle injury, but Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain remain out through injury.

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson also returns to the fold having turned out for the Reds in all 10 Premier League games so far this season and makes the move up from the under-21’s to join team mates Glen Johnson and Daniel Sturridge in the squad.

Under-fire Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart retains his place as does team mate James Milner. Manchester United have six players in the squad, namely Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Tom Cleverley, Michael Carrick, Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck.

Chelsea are also well represented with Gary Cahill, Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard in the 28, while Tottenham trio Kyle Walker, Andros Townsend and Jermaine Defoe also feature.
