Monaco striker Radamel Falcao says he hopes he made a good impression on Jose Mourinho after the Chelsea boss watched him play for Columbia on Thursday night, according to the Express.

Reports in recent days have suggested that Mourinho is lining-up a British record £60m move for Falcao in January as he looks to add a prolific goal-scorer to his squad to help boost his trophy-challenge during the second half of the season.

Speculation intensified further when the Portuguese coach was pictured in the stands at the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels last night and as well as check on Kevin De Bryne and Eden Hazard, the ‘Special One’ would have been impressed by what he saw as Falcao netted during an impressive 2-0 win over Belgium.

Speaking after the game, the 27-year-old hitman was asked about his thoughts on Mourinho being at the game and the talk of a potential move to Chelsea, to which he replied that he hoped he made a good impression before saying the Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world.

“He [Mourinho] came here to see good football played by good teams, a good spectacle.

“I don’t know if he was impressed by what he saw – I hope I made a good impression on him.

“The Premier League is one of the most important leagues in the world but I’m playing well and enjoying Monaco at the moment.” Falcao is quoted as saying by the Express.

Falcao only joined Monaco in the summer from Atletico Madrid and has continued his excellent form in front of goal, scoring 12 goals in 16 appearances so far. However, reports suggest the player is showing signs of discontent in France and may be open to a switch to England.

The Blues were strongly linked with a move the striker in the summer before he opted for a switch to Monaco but it would certainly be a stunning coup if they could lure him to Stamford Bridge, either in January or in the summer.
