Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has hit back at reports claiming he is angry with Roy Hodgson over his use of Jack Wilshere during the international break and denied claims the midfielder is injured.

Reports in this mornings newspapers suggested that Wilshere was a major doubt to take on Southampton this Saturday after picking up an ankle knock following a second half substitute appearance against Germany on Tuesday.

This led to further reports claiming that Wenger was furious with the FA and Hodgson after they apparently back-tracked on a verbal agreement that Wilshere would only feature in one of the friendlies.

However, Wenger has now put the record straight and told Arsenal.com that not only is Wilshere NOT injured, but secondly that he has no issue with how the midfielder used by England as Hodgson as the Three Lions boss had stuck to the terms of their agreement.

“First of all Jack is not injured, that was not the right information,”

“Secondly, I have no problem with the FA, they respected completely what they told me and it was [for Wilshere] to play in one game and be on the bench in the other.

“They did that very well. So there is no misunderstanding there. Exactly [they did what we agreed].”

So good news for Arsenal fans as it seems Wilshere has not suffered any injury set back and therefore should be in contention to face the Saints this weekend.
