Chelsea have joined rivals Liverpool and Manchester United in the race to sign unsettled Sevilla midfielder Ivan Rakitic, according to the Mirror.
The Croatian international is currently enjoying an excellent campaign in La Liga, scoring 7 goals in 13 games so far, which is his most productive season to date since making the move to Sevilla from Schalke in January 2011.
His contract expires in 2015 and the Spanish outfit are desperate to tie him down to a new deal to fight-off growing interest in the players services.

However, the Mirror claim Rakitic has grown disillusioned at Estadio Ramón Sánchez following the sales of Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo in the summer and is keen to follow his former team mates to the Premier League.
The newspaper suggests that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho wants to try and lure the 25-year-old to Stamford Bridge but will have to fight off competition from Liverpool and Man Utd – who are also understood to be interested in the midfielder.
