Spurs Team News + Predicted Starting XI To Take On West Ham

By on December 17, 2013

Tottenham will look to get back to footballing matters after another difficult week at White Hart Lane as they take on West Ham tomorrow night.

Andre Villas-Boas was sacked by chairman Daniel Levy yesterday following Sunday’s 5-0 thrashing by Liverpool and Tim Sherwood has now been put in temporary charge of first team duties starting with Wednesday night’s Capital One Cup quarter-final clash with the Hammers at the Lane.

Sherwood confirmed on Tuesday that he has problems in defence with Michael Dawson suspended and Jan Vertonghen ruled out with an ankle injury, but he did tell Tottenham’s official website that Vlad Chiriches has “a chance” of returning after missing the last three games with a knee injury.

Reports also claim that Younes Kaboul could return from injury, which would be a welcome boost for the north Londoners, while Danny Rose may also get another run out after returning to action last week following a three month lay-off.

However, midfielder Paulinho is suspended after being sent off on Sunday and Sandro is also expected to be missing after being forced off with a calf injury last time out.

Jermain Defoe should come in up front while the likes of Andros Townsend, Erik Lamela and Christian Eriksen should get a chance to impress.

Here’s our predicted line-up:

    A bit of research makes me believe he will play 4-1-3-1-1 with non-inverted wingers. It’s the formation he installed through out the youth set up.

    Fredrick’s chiraces Kabul Rose

    Capoue Dembele

    Lamella Erikson. Townsend

    Defoe

    Fredrick’s looked good in the Europa league delivered some good crosses. . Naughton is a very poor defender, I prefer Townsend on the left to stop him shooting too much. He play well on the left in. Europe. Will be interesting too see what impact Sherwood has on the team.

    Should be really exiting to see what happens with how we play because Sherwood is virtually an unknown quantity.

    Assuming all that the BBC say could be fit, are fit, my team is:

    Friedel;
    Naughton, Chireches, Kaboul, Rose;
    Sandro;
    Holtby, Dembele;
    Lamela, Defoe, Chadli;

    Hopefully Sherwood can be our man for the future. COYS
