Cruzeiro star Everton Ribeiro has once again reiterated his desire to join Manchester United despite interest from the likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid, according to the Daily Mail.

Ribeiro has just enjoyed an excellent debut season with Cruzeiro where his 15 goals in 51 games helped the club land the Brazilian league title while his personal form saw him named ‘Player of the Year’.

The Mail claims United have sent scouts to keep a close eye on the attacking midfielder on several occasions this season with boss David Moyes understood to be ready to make a £12m move.

The report suggests that the champions will face stiff competition from Spanish giants Real Madrid as well as domestic rivals Liverpool for the 24-year-old’s signature, with Brendan Rodgers said to be keen on luring the exciting attacker to Anfield.

However, it appears Ribeiro has his sights firmly set on a move to Old Trafford and when asked about whether he would prefer a move to United over the likes of Madrid or Liverpool, he said:

‘Yes, I would prefer that. The structure they (United) have in place is one of the best in the world. I have been there already and went to a lecture by Alex Ferguson when I was younger.’ Ribeiro is quoted as saying by the Mail

The admission comes just weeks after the player revealed he knows the United team well after playing with them on video games and admitted he would be keen on linking up with the likes of Wayne Rooney at Old Trafford:

‘United have Kagawa, Rooney, De Gea is the goalkeeper. I know them very well because I play with them a lot in video games as they are a great team. You play it one day after the other and know the players even better.

‘I feel I am ready to play in any part of the world. If you play for Cruzeiro, you can play in any place. I would fit in any part of the midfield. I would do well as a playmaker to support the attack.’

‘It would be great.’ [to play for United]

‘I let my agent and Cruzeiro talk about that. When they feel it’s good for both parties, they will let me know. I’ll see and we’ll analyse everything.’ Ribeiro is quoted as saying by the Mail

Ribeiro’s agent, Robson Ferreira, has also recently been quoted as saying that United are keen to sign the attacking midfielder and claims to have spoken personally with David Moyes about a potential move.

‘Manchester United want him. David Moyes has been impressed. I’ve already been to England and talked personally with them.’ Ferreira is quoted as saying by the Mail

United have endured a difficult first half of the season and they could certainly do with a creative outlet like Ribeiro to spice things up in midfield. Whether they are able to do a deal with Cruzeiro remains to be seen but they might also have problems gaining a work permit for the player as he is yet to earn his first cap for the Brazilian national team, despite his excellent recent form.
