Tottenham Hotspur entertain Stoke City at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon looking to get back to winning ways and continue their push for the top four.

Spurs were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw by West Brom on Thursday to leave the north Londoners sitting eighth in the table, so boss Tim Sherwood will be desperate to get his first home win under his belt this weekend.

Ahead of the game, Sherwood has given TottenhamHotspur.com a team news and injury update and the big news is that Aaron Lennon could return to the squad.

The winger has missed the last two weeks with a stomach problem but Sherwood told the clubs website that he “has a chance” of being in contention to face Stoke. Should he miss out, Nacer Chadli will likely continue on the right.

Paulinho is available again having served a one match ban last time out and the Brazilian is expected to replace Lewis Holtby in the centre of midfield, but Kyle Walker is suspended having picked up his fifth booking of the season against the Baggies.

Sherwood also rated Jermain Defoe and Mousa Dembele as “doubtful” due to hamstring and ankle injuries, and the pair could join Sandro, Younes Kaboul, Andros Townsend and Jan Vertonghen on the sidelines.

This is about as good as we can do with the injuries but how frustrating is it. With the players we bought I thought we would be challenging for the title but it looks like mid table at best.
