Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata is ‘likely’ to make a six-month loan move to Arsenal in January to help fire the club to the Premier League title, according to the Daily Mail.

Arsenal lead the way in the Premier League at the half-way stage of the season but boss Arsene Wenger is expected to add to his strike-force next month as he’s currently heavily reliant on Olivier Giroud.

The Frenchman has been linked with a whole host of top names but none of which are likely to be available in January, so the Mirror claim he will bring in Morata on a short-term basis before trying to sign one of his primary targets in the summer.

The 21-year-old is highly-rated at Real Madrid but is struggling to secure regular playing time under Carlo Ancelotti this season with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale all understandably ahead of him in the pecking order.

The newspaper suggests that Ancelotti has given Morata the green light to leave the club on loan in January in order to get more first team football under his belt and it appears he is now the player most likely to move to north London this winter.

Morata has been at the Bernabeu since 2008 and has impressed in their youth teams but really made his name at last summers Under-21 European Championship where he finished as the tournaments top scorer to help Spain lift the trophy.

He won’t be the big-money signing some Gooners are hoping for but he will certainly give Wenger more options in attack during the second half of the season. The youngster is primarily used as a centre-forward but is also capable of playing on the wings, so he could be the man to help bring the Premier League title to the Emirates.
