Manchester United take on Olympicos on Tuesday night in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 clash.

Ahead of the game, boss David Moyes has been speaking to the media this evening and gave ManUtd.com a team news and injury update.

The bad news is that Phil Jones and Jonny Evans have not travelled to Greece with the rest of the squad. Both defenders have been on the sidelines since picking up injuries during the 2-2 draw with Stoke City on February 1st and have been left back in Manchester having failed to recover in time.

Thankfully, everybody else is fit and available with Rafael coming through a fitness test on Monday morning after missing the last two games through injury.

Moyes also expressed his excitement at pitting his wits against Europe’s elite in the Champions League, with the Scot yet to taste defeat in Europe so far as United boss. Here is what he told the clubs website:

“Jones and Evans haven’t travelled. Everybody else is here,”

“I’m looking forward to the game. I was fortunate to watch Arsenal and Bayern Munich and I really enjoy Champions League games.”

“To get through was first and foremost important. To win the group was an added edge. Now I’m looking forward to this one. It’s a really tough game, Olympiacos have a good record here and we know, over the tie, we’ll have to play well to qualify.”

“Olympiacos did very well against PSG and Benfica. They came through a difficult group, they have a great home record here. We know it will be a difficult night. They have a big support. It’s far from an easy match.”

With Jones and Evans both out and Rafael returning at right-back, it means Chris Smalling could move in to the middle of the defence alongside Nemanja Vidic with Rio Ferdinand unlikely to be risked having played the full ninety minutes on Saturday.

Moyes could bring Darren Fletcher back in to the midfield while Antonio Valencia is in line for a recall with Juan Mata ineligible having already played for Chelsea in the group stages.
