Swansea vs Chelsea Preview, Team News, Likely Line-Ups, Key Man + Predicted Score

Chelsea take on Swansea at the Liberty on Sunday looking to give their title hopes a boost..Here’s a preview with team news, likely line-ups and prediction.

Liberty Stadium Swansea

Chelsea are in Wales to take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday afternoon looking for a win to give their title hopes a major boost.

The Blues head into the game sitting two points off leaders Liverpool and two ahead of Man City, and with their two title rivals going head-to-head at Anfield tomorrow, Chelsea will be hoping to take advantage of the fact at least one club will be dropping points this weekend.

Jose Mourinho’s side will be in buoyant mood after their dramatic win over PSG on Tuesday to book a date with Atletico Madrid in the semi finals of the Champions League, but they will be ken to address their domestic form away from home.

The West Londoners have seen their title hopes dashed with disappointing losses away to Aston Villa and Crystal Palace in recent weeks and a third consecutive loss on the road would be hugely damaging to their chances of lifting the title in May.

However, they will face a Swansea side that are just six points above the relegation zone and have won just one of their last eight league matches, so Mourinho should be confident of picking up the clubs first ever win at the Liberty Stadium.

Team News

Chelsea will be without key attacker Eden Hazard after he was forced off in midweek with a minor calf injury. Ramires is back from suspension so could come in for the Belgian, although Mohamed Salah and Andre Schurrle are also pushing for recalls.

Samuel Eto’o played through the pain on Tuesday after rushing back from a hamstring problem so he could get a rest tomorrow, which could see Fernando Torres start up front ahead of goal-scoring hero Demba Ba.

Nemanja Matic is certain to play after being ineligible in midweek and he should start alongside David Luiz in midfield after the Brazilians impressive display last time out.

Swansea boss Garry Monk has no fresh injury concerns to deal with but defender Kyle Bartley remains on the sidelines with a hamstring strain.

Pablo Hernandez and Nathan Dyer could get recalls after the Swans disappointed against Hull last week.

Likely Line-Ups

Key Man

Oscar: With Hazard out, Chelsea will be looking to Oscar to step up and provide the creative threat in the attacking third. The Brazilian has shown his quality on numerous occasions this season so Mourinho will be hoping he’s on form tomorrow.

Predicted Score

Swansea 0-2 Chelsea: Even without Hazard, the Blues should have too much for a Swansea team low on confidence.
