Manchester United will take on Everton on Sunday afternoon as David Moyes returns to Goodison Park for the first time since leaving in the summer. Here’s our predicted team for the game.

United are well rested having not played last weekend and they have been handed an injury boost ahead of the game with the news that Wayne Rooney is fit and available to face his former side.

The striker picked up a toe injury during the first leg against Bayern Munich and had to take a pain killing injection to make it through the second leg, but he’s trained all this week and is likely to spearhead the attack with Robin van Persie still in Holland continuing his recovery from a knee injury.

Rafael is also still out so Chris Smalling could continue at right-back while Phil Jones will be favourite to start alongside Nemanja Vidic. Jonny Evans is back in training but he may not be risked from the start just yet.

Michael Carrick is almost certain to start and could be joined by Darren Fletcher in midfield if Moyes decides to try and stifle Everton’s passing game. Marouane Fellaini is fit again but we think Moyes will go with his fellow Scot.

Danny Welbeck is also likely to get the nod over the likes of Shinji Kagawa and Adnan Januzaj due to his superior work-rate, which will be important to counteract the hosts adventurous full-backs, while Antonio Valencia and Juan Mata should make up the attack.

Here’s the side we think Moyes will select:

Of course! After the great “success” of that couple against Bayern, Rooney and Wellbeck again!!! You deserve Moyes as gaffer!! Moyes out!!! Hernández and Kagawa in!!!

I think kagawa should take welbeck’ place. Good combination of Kagawa and Mata made man utd won confortably againt Newcastle.

Stupid talks nd idea. Wht kind of work rate ar we talking about here, wht d hell. Pls start Kagawa, Mata, Hernandez, Carrick, Fletcher, Valencia/Januzaj, Smalling , Jones, Vidic, Evera. This ar d main men, nt qwarks lik Fellaini, Ashley (stupid players). Player lik J. Lingard, N. Powell, J. Wilson ar promising young nd hot blood players; try them nd u’ll never regret it. Moyes……. I dnt tink this is moyes selection? But if it is n united lost the game I personally think he should be shown the exit door with full security to help him carry his bags… Kagawa is one of the key players we have in manutd presently, rooney should start from bench and allow chicha start d game.

Wel. . . .welbeck 4 me is 1 of utd best playr dis season, i’d choose him ahead of kagawa. . .kagawa won’t b able 2 contend wit d strngth of everton players bt welbeck has d strngth nd pace. I’d like 2 see hm @ d flanks bcos he isn’t a gud goal scorer. . . Bt trust me i’d gv d defenders a run 4 their money

we are not talking about welbeck workrate but a deliverer which can only be seen in hernandes…welbeck is nothing but just an athletic person without a target…use ‘chicha’ moyes or u quit before you destroy UTD flat
