[Video Goals] Liverpool 0-2 Chelsea: Blues Blow Title Race Wide Open

By on April 27, 2014

Chelsea blew the title race wide open after beating Liverpool 2-0 at Anfield on Sunday afternoon thanks to goals from Demba Ba and Willian.

The visitors set up to defend first, and attack on the counter, and a cagey first half ended with Steven Gerrard gifting Demba Ba the chance to score when he slipped in the middle of the park allowing the Blues striker to sprint clear and cooly slot past Simon Mignolet for 1-0.

Liverpool pushed hard for the equaliser after the break but Chelsea stood firm and defended resolutely, until Fernando Torres broke clear in stoppage time before setting up Willian who tapped into the empty net for 2-0.

The result sees Chelsea close the gap to just two points with two games to play, while Manchester City have the chance to go to within three points (with a game in hand) if they beat Crystal Palace today.
