Tottenham will be looking to secure Europa League qualification when they take on Aston Villa at White Hart Lane on the final day of the season tomorrow.

Spurs head into the game sitting three points ahead of seventh-placed Manchester United, despite losing to West Ham last weekend, so only need a single point to ensure they finish above the deposed Premier League champions and book a place in Europe.

Tim Sherwood’s future is looking bleak and this is likely to be his final game in charge of the club, but he’s promised to remain focussed and sign-off on a positive note this weekend.

The north Londoners will face a Villa side that sit 15th in the Premier League table but are safe from relegation despite Wednesday night’s 4-0 loss to Manchester City at the Etihad.

Paul Lambert has admitted he’s unsure whether he’ll still be at the club next season but he won’t want to leave on a low note, so will be keen to secure a positive result in the capital this weekend.

Team News

Spurs have major injury worries to contend with as Sherwood faces up to being without seven squad players for the game. Kyle Walker continues to be ruled out by a pelvic injury so Kyle Naughton will deputise at right-back.

Jan Vertonghen is also still out with an ankle injury and with Younes Kaboul suspended following his sending off against West Ham, Vlad Chiriches is expected to start alongside Michael Dawson at the back.

Andros Townsend, Nacer Chadli, Mousa Dembele and Erik Lamela are still unavailable, but Etienne Capoue will be hoping to start after recovering from a foot injury.

Aston Villa have been boosted by the return of striker Gabby Agbonlahor after he recovered from a knee injury, while Marc Albrighton is also likely to be in contention after a groin problem.

However, Jores Okore, Libor Kozak, Christian Benteke, Charles N’Zogbia, Joe Bennett and Gary Gardner are all still out through injury.

Likely Line-Ups

Key Man

Emmanuel Adebayor: The Togolese striker has been in a rut lately but Spurs will be looking for him to rediscover his goal-scoring form tomorrow.

Predicted Score

Tottenham 2-1 Aston Villa: With both sides having little left to play for, we’re hoping for an open and exciting game, but we think Spurs should just edge it.
