Chelsea attacker Oscar has confirmed he has been in contact with Paris Saint-Germain about a possible move to France but insists he will remain at Chelsea for at least another year, according to reports today.

Along with fellow Chelsea team-mate Eden Hazard, Oscar has been strongly linked with a move to PSG over the course of the last few months with boss Laurent Blanc understood to be keen on luring the attacking duo to the Parc des Princes this summer.

Speculation intensified towards the end of March ahead of Chelsea’s Champions League quarter final clash with PSG and Blues boss Jose Mourinho joked that he’d only sell the pair for £300m.

However, that doesn’t appear to have deterred the big-spending Ligue 1 champions as Oscar has now let slip that he’s been in contact with PSG about a possible move, but thankfully for Chelsea fans the Brazilian insists no agreement is in place and he intends to remain at Stamford Bridge for at least another season.

Speaking after Monday nights 4-1 win over Cameroon, Oscar told reporters:

“I had contacts with Paris Saint-Germain, it is true, but I have not gone beyond. The next season I will stay at Chelsea,” said Oscar as quoted by TuttoMercatoWeb

While it will come as a relief that Oscar wants to stay at the club, questions must be asked over whether Chelsea were aware that PSG had made contact with their player. The likelihood is that PSG would have used an intermediary agent to hold talks with Oscars representatives behind Chelsea’s back, as this is typically how modern day transfer are conducted.

Whether this is the end of the matter remains to be seen. PSG have already splashed out around £50m to sign David Luiz and you’d think it would take a similar fee to persuade Chelsea to sell Oscar, but judging by the 22-year-old’s comments, he sees his future in West London for the time being at least.
