Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has confirmed the club have received offers for Alexis Sanchez amid interest from the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City.

Sanchez has become one of this summers most sought-after players after it emerged that he was available for transfer with new Barca boss Luis Enrique seemingly not viewing the Chilean international as an important part of his first team set-up next season.

The 25-year-old’s availability alerted Arsenal and Liverpool with the duo strongly linked with the attacker in recent weeks. Reports last month suggested that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger had already held talks with Sanchez’s agent in Brazil, while former Liverpool defender Phil Thomson claimed last week that a deal to take the player to Anfield was already ‘done’.

The Daily Star suggested over the weekend that the two Manchester clubs had also joined the chase, although reports from Spain maintain that should Sanchez leave the Nou Camp this summer then his preferred destination would be the Emirates.

So it looks like it’s gearing up to be an interesting battle with four of England’s biggest clubs all vying for one of the most exciting attackers in Europe, and now Barcelona have done little to play down speculation the player is set for a move this summer.

Sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has been speaking today at the presentation of new signing Ivan Rakitic when he confirmed that they have received offers for Sanchez, and instead of dismissing the idea of him leaving as he did with Pedro, the former goalkeeper hinted the player could be off after saying they will find a solution that suits all parties.

“Regarding the future of Alexis Sanchez, there have been offers for the player,”

“But I do not know how it will all end – we are looking for a solution which will be best for everyone.

“Pedro, however, is not transferable. I count on Pedro for the future.”

Sanchez has just enjoyed an excellent World Cup where Chile were unfortunate to crash out in the last 16 phase after taking Brazil all the way to penalties. The attacker went back to his homeland to enjoy some down-time but you’d expect he’ll be wanting to resolve his future soon and it’s looking increasingly likely we’ll be seeing him in the Premier League next season.

For which club remains unclear, but understandably there is no shortage of interest. Sanchez is predominantly an attacking midfielder who can play out wide or through the middle, but he’s also capable of playing up front, so he’d be a useful addition to any club.
