[Team] Liverpool vs Preston: Lambert & Can Make Debuts

Liverpool continue their pre-season preparations as they take on Preston this afternoon.

Brendan Rodgers continues to be without those players who featured in Brazil at the World Cup so the likes of Steven Gerrard, Glen Johnson, Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling are missing.

However, the Liverpool fans will get the opportunity to see new summer signings Rickie Lambert and Emre Can as the pair make their debuts today. Martin Skrtel starts at the back alongside John Flanagan while Lucas and Jose Allen also get a run-out in midfield.

Perhaps a surprise inclusion in the starting eleven is Fabio Borini as Rodgers has opted to start him amid speculation he’s set for a move away from Anfield.
