Liverpool’s Striker Move Isn’t A ‘Done Deal’ Yet, Confirms Father

The father of Divock Origi claims Liverpool are leading the race for the strikers signature but insists a move to Anfield isn’t a ‘done deal’ just yet.

The summer transfer window is now open for business and it’s expected to be a busy few weeks as managers strengthen their squads ahead of next season, so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Liverpool’s move for Divock Origi isn’t a done deal.

The father of Divock Origi claims Liverpool are leading the race for the strikers signature but insists a move to Anfield isn’t a ‘done deal’ just yet, according to reports.

Origi has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool this summer and was spotted at Anfield last week where he held face-to-face talks with club officials, including boss Brendan Rodgers.

Widespread reports in recent days have claimed that the Merseysiders have agreed a £10m deal with Lille that would see the 19-year-old return to the Ligue 1 outfit on loan for the next 12 months, while some reports even suggest that the Belgian youngster is heading to Boston to meet up with the Liverpool squad and undergo a medical.

However, it appears the move is not as close as the newspapers would have us believe, as Origi’s father has now confirmed that while Liverpool remain front-runners, the deal isn’t done yet and their is another team still in the running, but revealed that a decision over his sons future is imminent.

‘The deal isn’t done yet. Liverpool is still the most concrete option,’

‘There’s another team showing interest. We want to take a decision soon. On Monday, Divock is expected back at Lille for their first training session. We would like to have everything wrapped before that day.’

So it looks like Liverpool still have some work to do before they wrap up a deal for Origi, but thankfully it sounds like we wont have long to wait before we find out which club he’ll be joining.
