Agent To Push Through £47m Man Utd Deal During Talks With Director Today

The summer transfer window is now open for business and it’s expected to be a busy few weeks as managers strengthen their squads ahead of next season, so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Arturo Vidal wants move to Man Utd.

Arturo Vidal’s agent will try and push through a potential £47m move to Manchester United when he holds talks with Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta today, according to reports in Chile.

Vidal has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer after new boss Louis van Gaal supposedly identified the Chilean international as a key signing for his new-look side.

Reports earlier this week claimed that United were edging closer to the 27-year-old’s signature after reportedly agreeing a £47m ($80m) fee with Juventus and had offered the midfielder a bumper contract worth around £270,000-a-week.

Juve were quick to play down this speculation with new boss Massimiliano Allegri insisting yesterday that he had spoken to Vidal and the player had made it clear he was happy to remain in Turin for the forthcoming season. He told reporters:

“Vidal will stay here and he’s very happy about this,”

“I spoke with him about his fitness, we’re happy he will stay with us.” Allegri is quoted as saying by the Express

However, fresh reports coming from Chilean newspaper El Mercurio today claim that Vidal remains keen on making the move to Old Trafford and his agent, Fernando Felicevich, will inform the Serie A champions he wants to leave during talks with Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta today.

The paper suggests that United have already put forward their offer and are waiting to hear back from the Vidal camp, with Felicevich set to try and push through the potential move during face-to-face discussions.

It remains to be seen how much truth there is behind these reports but this saga doesn’t look like it’s about to reach a conclusion any time soon. Vidal would certainly be a sensational signing for United but it’s unclear how all this will play out.

Even if these reports are accurate, there is no guarantee Juve will agree to let the midfielder leave, as he’s been an integral part of the side that’s won three consecutive Serie A title’s.

However, money tends to do most of the talking in today’s world so the cash-strapped Italians may find it difficult to turn down United’s £47m offer, and with Vidal seemingly keen on making the move, van Gaal could be set to pull off a major coup this summer.
