[Video Goals] Arsenal 5-1 Benfica: Sanogo Scores Four + Campbell Nets Lovely Volley

By on August 2, 2014

Arsenal have got hand on the 2014 Emirates Cup after thrashing Benfica 5-1 this afternoon thanks to four goals from Yaya Sanogo.

The young French forward finally opened his account for the club with a close range back-heel following great work from Aaron Ramsey before Joel Campbell made it 2-0 with a well-taken volley from an excellent cross from Hector Bellerin.

Sanogo then made it 4-0 in quick succession with two quick-fire goals to complete his hat-trick and he got his fourth just after half time when he pounced after Aaron Ramsey’s shot had been saved.

Benfica got a late consolation to make it 5-1, but the win sees us register eight points and go well clear of Monaco and Valencia, who are both on three points following their 2-2 draw earlier today. It means barring a catastrophe against Monaco tomorrow, we should get our hands on the Emirates Cup.
