Liverpool take on Southampton at Anfield this afternoon looking to get their season off to a winning start.

Manager Brendan Rodgers has handed a competitive debut to youngster Javier Manquillo with Glen Johnson starting on the left side of defence. Dejan Lovren also makes his first start for the club while Lucas Leiva is preferred to Emre Can in the middle of the park.

Raheem Sterling and Philippe Coutinho support Daniel Sturridge in attack, while Rickie Lambert is among the subs against his former side.
