[Video Highlights] Besiktas 0-0 Arsenal: Ramsey Sent Off As Gunners Held

Arsenal’s hopes of qualifying for the group stages of the Champions League hang in the balance after being held to a 0-0 draw by Besiktas in tonight’s first leg in Turkey.

We were arguably the better side in the first half with Alexis Sanchez lively in attack and Calum Chambers dominant in defence, but the hosts did have two excellent chances to open the scoring, with Demba Ba wasting both opportunities.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain came closest to winning it in the second half but he saw his shot superbly saved by Zengin just after Aaron Ramsey was sent off for two very soft bookings. The Welshman will now miss next weeks second leg at the Emirates.

0-0 away from home isn’t the worst result and we should be confident of beating Besiktas at home, but it would have been nice to grab a vital away goal to make the return leg a little easier.
