By on August 30, 2014

Chelsea maintained their 100% start to the new season with a thrilling 6-3 win over Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday evening.

The Londoners got off to a flying start when goals from Diego Costa and Branislav Ivanovic put them 2-0 up inside the opening 3 minutes. Everton pulled one back just before half-time through Kevin Mirallas but defender Seamus Coleman was unfortunate to put through his own net for 1-3 in the 67th minute.

That kicked off a crazy spell that saw goals flying in at both ends with Steven Naismith quickly pulling one back for 2-3 before Nemanja Matic fired home from the edge of the area for 2-4 just 5 minutes later.

Samuel Eto’o came off the bench to head home for 3-4 in the 76th minute before Ramires went straight up the other end to give Chelsea a two-goal cushion once again at 3-5, ending a stunning 10-minute spell that saw an incredible 5 goals scored.

Diego Costa wrapped up the three points with a late sixth for Chelsea to ensure they made it three wins from three games and move them back to the top of the Premier League table.
