Man Utd Set To Wrap-Up £24m Double Deal

By on August 31, 2014

The summer transfer window is now reaching its climax and managers are working hard to make some last minute additions to their squad, so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Manchester United are set to wrap up a double deal worth £26m.

Manchester United are pushing to secure a £24 million double swoop for Dutch international duo Daley Blind and Nigel De Jong, according to reports.

United confirmed yesterday that they had agreed a deal with Ajax for versatile midfielder Blind and the 24-year-old arrived in Manchester on Saturday afternoon to undergo a medial and discuss personal terms.

The former champions haven’t disclosed the exact fee they will be paying but reports suggest it’s in the region of £14m, and Blind should seal his switch to Old Trafford as soon as the formalities have been concluded.

The Dutch international made his name as a left-back but Ajax manager Frank de Boer converted him to a defensive midfielder last season and he’s been hugely impressive in that role, but it remains to be seen where Louis van Gaal will deploy him.

Blind could be joined at Old Trafford by compatriot Nigel De Jong with the Daily Star claiming that United have a £10m deal in place to sign the 29-year-old and are just waiting for AC Milan to give the official go-ahead for the midfielder to fly over to the UK to undergo his medical.

De Jong is seen as a back-up option for Arturo Vidal with United struggling to make any head-way in talks with Juventus to sign the Chilean international, so it seems they’ve lined-up the De Jong deal as a fall back option.

The former Man City ace will bring huge experience to the United squad if he does end up making the move and he’ll provide some much-needed power and physicality to a midfield that’s look weak this season.

It’s been a hectic summer already for the Red Devils but it looks as though van Gaal is set to continue his squad overhaul with two more additions, and you’d expect their will be quite a few players leaving as well on transfer on deadline day, so it’s going to be a busy 24 hours at the Old Trafford offices.

Saying Rooney and V.Persie are playing as they played for Moyes is a big lie,coz they are far worst than Moyes’ Era. They can’t even score one on one with goalkeeper nowadays compare to Moyes time. We just have to keep the faith, cos we have Di Maria in our team while Madrid have no Angel to help them in yesterday trashing against Real Sociedad. Madrid’s greatest mistake is selling their best player. My co united fans, window closes today. Let’s wait and see who comes in and who goes out. Just like 2 sides of a coin.
