[Tweets] Balotelli Mocks Himself On Twitter After Breaking Liverpool Goal Drought

Mario Balotelli took to Twitter to poke fun at himself after finally breaking his goal-scoring drought with an effort during Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Swansea

Liverpool needed two late goals from Mario Balotelli and Dejan Lovren to come from a goal down to beat Swansea City at Anfield on Tuesday night.

After a goalless first half, Swansea opened the scoring in the 65th minute before Balotelli broke his long goal-scoring drought by poking home the equaliser with just five minutes remaining.

Defender Dejan Lovren then headed home the winner deep into stoppage time to book Liverpool’s place in the last eight of the League Cup, but it was Balotelli who has once again stolen the headlines.

The Italian took to Twitter last night to poke fun at himself for ‘finally’ getting among the goals, with last night’s strike just his second effort following his £16m summer move from AC Milan, while it was his first goal in eight matches since scoring against Ludogorets in the Champions League back in early September.

Reds fans will no doubt be hoping that the goal last night will give Balotelli a much-needed confidence boost and he’ll now go on to show the kind of form that persuaded Brendan Rodgers to take a chance on him in the summer.
