Fabregas Facing 3 Weeks Out….What The Hell Was Wenger Thinking?!

Cesc Fabregas

Written by Fab4.

Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas limped out of the 2-0 defeat to Braga last night with a reoccurrence of his hamstring injury. Arsene Wenger will now assess the damage but confirmed to Arsenal.com the midfielder could face up to three weeks out:

Eboue will be out for a while and we will have to asses Fabregas tomorrow. It could be two to three weeks. It is very disapointing because I had a hesitation to play him before the match started. I took the gamble and it back-fired on us.

What was Wenger doing risking Fabregas?! He rested Arshavin, Song, Chamakh and Nasri but started Fabregas who he admitted was struggling to shake off the hamstring injury. if there is one injury you don’t mess about with its a hamstring. They can tweak easily and its a minimum of two weeks out. Absolute stupidity by the boss.

If the game was worthy of making seven changes, the first player to be rested should have been Fabregas. Regardless of his importance to the team, we should have protected our captain. Now we are back to square one with him likely to be out for weeks and when he does come back we will have another couple of weeks getting him back to fitness. Which means he won’t be 100% for the busy Christmas period, when we play Chelsea!

Even if it isn’t as bad as first feared, it was still insane to risk him. The fact Wenger pushes his so far shows how much faith he really has in the ‘best squad he’s ever managed’. What a load of boll*cks! If that was true Cesc would never have travelled to Portugal, but Wenger knows how much we rely on Fabregas.

Fingers crossed because the last thing we need is our best players on the sidelines again. if you haven’t seen them yet, you can see the goals from Braga 2-0 Arsenal.
