Liverpool picked up three valuable points after narrowly beating Burnley 1-0 at Turf Moor this afternoon.
Both sides had chances to score but the visitors finally broke the deadlock when Sterling raced clear to round the Burnley keeper and slot home after being found by a superb pass from Philppe Coutinho.
The hosts pushed for an equaliser but Liverpool held on to to secure an important win that lifts them up to ninth in the Premier League table and seven points off fourth-placed Southampton.
