Cambridge vs Man Utd Preview, Team News, Likely Line-Up, Prediction & Betting Tips

Man Utd will be looking to avoid an upset when they take on Cambridge in the FA Cup tonight. Here’s a preview with team news, line-up and predicted score

Manchester United will be looking to avoid an upset when they take on Cambridge United in the fourth round of the FA Cup tonight.

The Red Devils warmed up for the game with a narrow 2-0 win over Queens Park Rangers on Saturday with Marouane Fellaini and James Wilson getting on the scoresheet to ensure United remain fourth in the Premier League table.

United eased through the third round in the FA Cup with a 2-0 win over Yeovil Town thanks to goals from Ander Herrara and Angel Di Maria but they’ll now face another banana skin in the fourth round at the Abbey Stadium.

This is a dream tie for the lowest ranked team left in the competition and Cambridge United will no doubt be out to cause an upset. They currently sit mid-table in League Two after back-to-back wins over Newport and Carlisle while they edged past Luton 2-1 to book their place in the fourth round.

Team News

Louis van Gaal is expected to take the opportunity to make some changes to his starting eleven with Victor Valdes set to be handed his debut in goal.

Striker Robin van Persie is available again after recovering from an ankle injury but the Dutchman may have to make do with a place on the bench with James Wilson and Radamel Falcao likely to spearhead the attack.

Defenders Jonny Evans and Chris Smalling are unavailable due to injury but Luke Shaw is back in contention after missing last weekend’s win over QPR.

Rafael is also available after recovering from the fractured cheekbone and he could replace Antonio Valencia on the right wing.

As for Cambridge, Luke Chadwick could miss the chance to play against his former side as he’s an injury doubt.

Predicted Score

Cambridge 0-3 Man Utd: The League Two minnows are going to be up for this game and will no doubt prove to be a tricky test, but I think we’ll see United’s superior quality come through in the end and they’ll book their place in the next stage.

Betting Tips

Man Utd are obviously the heavy favourites to win the game with best odds of 1/5 but thanks to Football-Talknew customers can get enhanced odds of 3/1 on an away win with Betfair while you can also win £100 worth of free bets. A 3-0 win is on offer at 11/2 and I fancy James Wilson to open the scoring at odds of 9/2, and if we combine that with a 2-0 away win in a scorecast then we get very tempting odds of 16/1. Surely that’s got to be worth a couple of quid!?
