Chelsea will be the favourites to progress after securing a 1-1 draw against Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie in France tonight.

The Blues made the perfect start after opening the scoring in the 36th minute with three of their defenders playing a role in the goal. Skipper John Terry sent in a cross from the left before Gary Cahill flicked the ball on for Ivanovic to head home a priceless away effort.

PSG then levelled things up just after half time when Uruguayan international Edinson Cavani headed home from a superb Blaise Matuidi cross in the 56th minute for 1-1.

The hosts had the better of the chances and could have nicked it near the end with both Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic going close, but Chelsea held on to secure a very useful 1-1 draw heading into the second leg at Stamford Bridge in three weeks time.
