Man Utd & Chelsea Prepared To Pay Up To €80m For Serie A Star

Manchester United and Chelsea are among the clubs who are prepared to pay up to €80 to sign Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba this summer, according to reports.

The January transfer window may be closed but that won’t stop the newspapers from speculating ahead of the summer so we’ll bring you all the news and gossip. Today, Chelsea and Manchester United are ready to spend big to land Paul Pogba….

Manchester United and Chelsea are among the clubs who are prepared to pay up to €80 to sign Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba this summer, according to reports.

Pogba has developed into one of the best all-round midfielders in world football since moving to Turin in 2012 with his dominant displays in the middle of the park helping Juve lift consecutive Serie A titles and they’re well on course to making it a hat-trick this season.

The 22-year-old has been constantly linked with a move away from Italy over the past two years and despite signing a new long-term contract just last year, he is once again being lined-up by some of Europe’s top clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

Juventus sporting director Giueseppe Morotta has confirmed that there are many clubs interested in Pogba with some of his suitors apparently willing to pay up to €80m to lure him away at the end of the season, however the Serie A giants insist they have no intention of cashing in.

“There are many suitors of Pogba,”

“But we do not want to open negotiations and we want him to stay with us.

“There are clubs prepared to pay between €70m and €80m to sign him.” Marotta is quoted as saying by the Express.

The Express claim that Manchester United and Chelsea are two of the clubs who are willing to pay €80m (£56m) to land Pogba this summer but it appears they may have a tough time persuading Juve to sell.

However, the French international’s agent, Mino Raiola, has regularly talked-up a move away from Italy in recent months and was quoted back in January as suggesting that Pogba may seek a move in the near future.

“He [Pogba] cannot stay for very much longer in Italy,”

“It will depend on the Bianconeri. We extended his contract and we are happy that we did so.

“But when it is the right time to leave, we will inform them. I don’t know when that moment will be.” Raiola is quoted as saying by the Express

Pogba joined Juventus on a free transfer from Man Utd in August 2012 after refusing to sign a new contract having failed to make the break through under Sir Alex Ferguson, so it would be interesting to see if he’d be willing to head back to Old Trafford now that he’s established himself as a world class player.

Despite what they are saying publicly, I have a feeling that Juve could be tempted to cash-in if the a club tables a formal offer in the region of €80m-€90m and Chelsea and United have the financial muscle to pull it off.

Pogba would obviously be a sensational signing for either club and it would be great to see the Frenchman plying his trade in the Premier League, but we’ll have to see how things develop as there’s still a long way to go before any potential move goes through.
