President Confirms Arsenal Are ‘First Choice’ After Making Offer For Man Utd Target

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has revealed that Arsenal have made an offer for Paulo Dybala and are the strikers first choice due to their style of play

The January transfer window is now closed but that won’t stop the newspapers from speculating ahead of the summer so we’ll bring you all the news and gossip. Today, Arsenal have made their move for Paulo Dybala….

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has revealed that Arsenal have made a firm offer for Paulo Dybala and are the strikers ‘first choice’ due to their style of play, according to reports today.

Dybala has emerged as one of the hottest properties in European football after enjoying an excellent season that’s seen him score 12 goals and provide 8 assists in 27 appearance so far.

His impressive form has attracted interest from some of the worlds top clubs with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Juventus all strongly linked with a move for the 21-year-old in recent months.

However, Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has now revealed that both Arsenal and Juve have made formal offers for the striker and although he is tempted to remain in Italy, he claims that Dybala’s ‘first choice’ is the Gunners due to Arsene Wenger’s style of play.

Speaking to Italian radio station Radio Marte today, Zamparini is quoted as saying:

“Juventus and Arsenal have already made offers.

“[Pierpaolo] Triulzi, the lad’s agent will be in Italy on Friday. I’m asking for more than €40m [£29m].

“Dybala would prefer to stay in Italy, but the British team Arsenal are the first choice of the lad because of the way Wenger’s team plays.”

It’s no clear what Arsenal’s offer is or whether it comes close to Palermo’s €40m+ asking price, but as it stands it seems the North Londoners are firmly in pole position to snap up one of Europe’s most sought after players.

Zamparini’s comments come just days after reports claimed that Arsenal officials had met with Dybala’s agent to discuss a potential move to the Emirates, so it certainly seems like Wenger is keen to lure the Argentinean international to the Premier League.

I’m sure Manchester United haven’t given up hope of winning the race just yet while Juventus are still a strong contender, but whoever does end up buying Dybala is going to get one hell of a talent.

If Arsenal do end up signing him, then he could be viewed as a potential replacement for Theo Walcott with the pacey wingers future at the Emirates uncertain as he’s about to enter the final year of his contract and there’s no sign of an extension being signed anytime soon.
