Chelsea Eyeing Move For World Class Hitman Who’s ‘Willing To Die’ For Mourinho

Jose Mourinho is hoping to be reunited with Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the Chelsea boss is eyeing a shock move for the Paris Saint-Germain striker this summer.

As the opening of the summer transfer window approaches, managers are working hard identifying targets and lining-up potential deals so we’ll bring you all the news and gossip. Today, Chelsea are linked with Zlatan Ibrahimovic……

Jose Mourinho is hoping to be reunited with Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the Chelsea boss is eyeing a shock move for the Paris Saint-Germain striker this summer, according to reports.

Ibrahimovic has played a key role for PSG since joining the club from AC Milan in 2012 and he’s widely regarded as one of the best strikers in world football.

The Swedish hitman has enjoyed an excellent three seasons in France where he’s scored 106 goals in 126 appearances to help secure three consecutive Ligue 1 titles as well as two domestic cups.

However, the 33-year-old is about to enter the final year of his contract and speculation has been circulating suggesting he could be set for a move this summer.

Edinson Cavani is keen to play in a more central role next year and as the Uruguayan international is five years younger than Ibrahimovic, it seems PSG could decide to cash-in on the ageing super-star.

While Ibrahimovic has plied his trade in Sweden, Holland, Italy, Spain and France, he’s never tested himself in the Premier League but that could be about to change as the Express are citing reports coming out of Italy that claim Chelsea are eyeing a shock swoop this summer.

Jose Mourinho is on the look out for another target man with Didier Drogba set to leave at the end of the season and the newspaper suggests that the Portuguese coach has set his sights on a reunion with Ibrahimovic.

The pair enjoyed a successful time together at Inter Milan in 2008/09 and Ibrahimovic has previously admitted his admiration for Mourinho in his book, stating that he was a manager the striker was ‘willing to die for’.

“I’ve never met a manager with that kind of knowledge about the opposing sides. We all sensed it immediately. this guy knows his stuff.

“I felt increasingly that this guy gives everything for the team, so I want to give everything for him.

“He formed an attachment to me even before we met. He would become a guy I was basically willing to die for.” Ibrahimovic is quoted as saying.

High praise indeed and judging by these comments, Ibrahimovic would surely be tempted by the chance to play under Mourinho again at Stamford Bridge.

It would also give him the chance to play in English football before he retires, and I think it’s safe to say most people would love to see Ibrahimovic in the Premier League next season.

However, we’ll have to wait and see how things develop as I’m sure PSG will do everything they can to hang on to him as Laurent Blanc looks to build a side capable of going one step further in the Champions League having crashed out to Barcelona in the quarter finals this year.
