Chelsea To Sell Duo To Fund Big-Money Move For Liverpool Star

Chelsea are ready to cash-in on Oscar and Juan Cuadrado in order to fund a big-money swoop on Liverpool for want-away attacker Raheem Sterling this summer.

As the opening of the summer transfer window approaches, managers are working hard identifying targets and lining-up potential deals so we’ll bring you all the news and gossip. Today, Chelsea are eyeing a move for Raheem Sterling….

Chelsea are ready to cash-in on Oscar and Juan Cuadrado in order to fund a big-money swoop on Liverpool for want-away attacker Raheem Sterling, according to reports.

Sterling’s future has been thrown into fresh doubt after news broke earlier this week claiming that the 20-year-old has told Brendan Rodgers he has no intention of signing a new deal and wants to leave at the end of the season.

Liverpool are expected to play hard-ball with the youngster as he still has two years remaining on his contract but they may find it difficult to resist if big-money offers come in for the unsettled England international.

The likes of Manchester City, Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are all being linked with a move for Sterling but it seems Chelsea are also about to throw their hat into the ring as the Daily Star claim that the Blues are ready to cash-in on Oscar and Juan Cuadrado in order to fund a move for the £50m-rated attacker.

Cuadrado only moved to West London in a £26m move from Fiorentina in January but the Colombian has failed to make any sort of impact, with the 26-year-old making just 3 starts and has struggled to come to terms with Mourinho’s strict demands.

Oscar has endured a mixed season at Stamford Bridge and although he’s still believed to be part of the Premier League champions long-term plans, the newspaper suggests that  Jose Mourinho will be willing to sell if the right offer comes along.

Mourinho has shown in the past that he’s prepared to sell key players with the sales of Juan Mata and David Luiz, and the Blues boss knows he’ll have to find the funds from somewhere if he wants to finance a move for Sterling, and it appears Oscar could be the latest to be sacrificed.

If Chelsea do end up mounting a serious move for Sterling then they’re likely to face stiff competition but the Daily Star claim that the Liverpool ace would favour a move back to London. If that’s the case, then the Blues would fancy their chances of pulling off a major coup.

Sterling’s agent Aidy Ward claimed yesterday that talk of the player wanting to leave had been ‘blown out of proportion’, but he did concede that they were due to hold crunch talks with Liverpool chiefs later this week.

He told talkSPORT:

“The story has been blown somewhat out of proportion,” he said.

“Raheem and his representatives have a meeting scheduled with Liverpool later this week, and we will take proceedings from there.”

So it appears Sterling’s future could become a lot clearer later this week but if I was a betting man I’d back the player leaving Anfield this summer, and a move back to the capital wouldn’t be a surprise.
