Liverpool will take on Bordeaux in their Europa League group stage opener on Thursday night. Here is the side I think Brendan Rodgers will pick:

Goalkeeper: Rodgers is expected to make several changes to his starting eleven but the goalkeeper isn’t likely to be one of them. Therefore, Simon Mignolet is set to keep his place in goal.

Defence: Dejan Lovren, Nathaniel Clyne and Martin Skrtel have all been left back in Merseyside to rest ahead of Sunday’s clash with Norwich so there are certain to be changes at the back.

Rodgers has confirmed that Mamadou Sakho will start and he’s likely to be partnered with Kolo Toure in the middle of defence. Alberto Moreno is expected to start at left-back with Joe Gomez possibly moving across to right-back.

Midfield: Jordan Henderson won’t feature after travelling to the USA for treatment on his heel injury while Lucas Leiva and James Milner are also rested. Jordan Rossiter could therefore make his European bow alongside Emre Can in midfield.

Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho is back from a domestic ban so is expected to start just in front of the midfield two.

Attack: With Christian Benteke rested Rodgers has confirmed that Divock Origi will start up front tomorrow night and he could be joined in attack by Danny Ings and Jordon Ibe.

Daniel Sturridge is back in full training after hip surgery but he isn’t expected to feature.

Here is how I think we’ll see Liverpool line-up:

What do you think? What line-up would you like to see start?
