Arsenal are hoping Jack Wilshere could make his long-awaited comeback against Watford as the midfielder gears-up to return to full first team training this week, according to the Mirror.

Wilshere is yet to feature this season after undergoing surgery on a fractured fibula which he sustained in training just before the season kicked-off in early August.

After struggling to recover from the hairline fracture, the 24-year-old was eventually forced to have surgery in early September which ruled him out of action for at least three months.

Jack then suffered several setbacks during his rehabilitation over the course of the past few months which kept him out for much longer than expected but he finally got himself back on the training pitch to do light running at the start of February.

It looks like he’s now been given the green light to step-up his recovery even further as the Mirror claim that Wilshere is set to return to full first team training this week – possibly as early as Monday.

As long as he doesn’t suffer any further setbacks, the newspaper suggests that Arsenal have pencilled him in to make his long-awaited comeback when we entertain Watford at the Emirates on April 2nd.

If that time-frame proves accurate, then Wilshere will be back for our final six Premier League games of the season, plus he’d be able to play some part if we are still in any cup competitions at that stage of the season.

Arsene Wenger confirmed at his pre-match press conference on Friday that Wilshere was due to return in around a month, so it certainly looks like he should see the midfielder back playing again sooner rather than later.

It would be a major boost to have Jack available for the run-in as I think we’ve sorely missed him this season while I’d also love to see him get fit and make the England squad for this summers European Championships.
