Will The Real Arsenal Please Stand Up?

You know I have been getting a lot of **** from people especially after I published the ratings for the Partizan game. People say that Alex Song did not play well, or rather was not the best player on the pitch. Ok let me clear this up first, I don’t know what Sagna did which impressed the hell out of people, but I feel that because the guy got himself sent-off, people feel sorry for him and are sympathising with him.

Now don’t get me wrong, Sagna is the best defender we have this season. He goes up, defends, he is like Alves for FCB….but against Partizan he was nothing extraordinary, yeah he was not bad, but I have seen him perform better. Moreover he got a silly card and now our best defender this season shall miss crucial matches in the Champions League. Song on the other hand was the best player on the pitch, he defended, he attacked productively, and moreover it’s because of him that we scored twice against Belgrade.

Now for the match. LETS BE CLEAR HERE, if we play the way we did against Belgrade, we shall get really hammered at Old Trafford. Wenger’s tactics from the beginning were so wrong, that I can’t fully expressed it in writing. Lets be honest, the match should have been done and dusted by half-time and we “should have” had at least a 3 goal lead.

For me, its RVP over Chamakh. After seeing their combination yesterday, I don’t think its a very wise decision to play them together. Especially with the likes of  Nasri, and Song playing in the same team as well. This is the ideal formation I’d want to see us play and stick to:

———————————————————–LUKE———————————————————–

—SAGNA——————TOMMY-V——————————–DJOUROU*———————-CLICHY—

———————————————————SONG—————————————————————

————————————NASRI———————————CESC——————————————

—THEO—————————————————————————————————–ARSHAVIN–

———————————————————RVP——————————————————————

On Wednesday Wenger started the match with Real Madrids formation, the 4-2-3-1, and boy did we play crap!

RVP, the guy who should have been the central striker was the one who was playing CAM. (the Ozil role in Madrid.) Since the dutch-man is not used to this position, he was found loitering around sometimes deep and then sometimes too much forward. This is the play-maker role, the ideal CESC role, and sadly it was given to the wrong guy.

Moreover, Partizan chose to crowd up their midfield, with 5 in the middle, so automatically our main forte i.e the midfield was handled nicely by the visitors. Why start with a 4-2-3-1…rather why not go for a 4-1-3-2…Partizan were never going to attack much, Denilson could sit, that will build his confidence..Song/Jack, Nasri and AA23 could take control of  the midfield, and then we would see how RVP and Chamakh play together. I felt like killing Squillaci when he backed away from Cleo, and swore when we conceded. This is Partizan, what will happen when we take on the Spanish twins or the German cousins?!

Now lets face it. In heart of hearts we all know, that this years Champions League may not be won by us..rather we may not even make it to the Quarters after seeing the teams we may face. I’ll come out with a post on that later, but the point here is that we sucked as a team out there, and YES, for crying out loud we were lacklustre, shabby, sick, wayward, and whatever demeaning word you may use.

It’s good to have faith in your team..I really appreciate that. But facts are facts if we play like this against United we will get steam rolled at OT. I don’t know about United, that’s the only team I dread in this league. After Ronaldo left, the way they kept up with Chelsea last season, and the way they are keeping up this season is ****’n excellent. Rooney is back playing well, Nani was always good and Anderson is developing too. If we don’t win at OT this week and also taking into consideration Chelsea’s current form, I don’t think we will lead the league come New Years…”Will be out with The Preview soon”

Till then take Care Gooners,
