New Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has already drawn-up his list of key transfer targets as he looks to bring five new players to Stamford Bridge this summer, according to the Mirror.

Conte was confirmed as the new Chelsea manager on Monday afternoon with the former Juventus coach set to take over the reigns from interim boss Guus Hiddink after agreeing a three-year deal.

The 46-year-old will begin his new role in the Premier League once he leaves his post as Italy boss following this summers European Championships but it appears he’s already starting to plan for the future.

The Mirror claim that Conte wants to bring five new players to Chelsea with the Italian targetting two centre-backs, two midfielders and a new striker as he looks to turn the Blues back in to title challengers following a disastrous season.

The newspaper says that Conte has already drawn-up his list of key targets with Roma star Kostas Manolas his prime focus in defence while he’ll also look to recall Andreas Christensen from his two-year loan at Borussia Monchengladbach a year early.

In midfield, the Mirror claim Conte is eyeing moves for Roma duo Radja Nainggolan and Miralem Pjanic while Bayern Munich star Arturo Vidal is also understood to be on his radar.

However, it’s in attack where Chelsea really need reinforcements and the report states that Conte wants to bring Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge despite Everton’s £60m valuation while Napoli hot-shot Gonzalo Higuain is also under consideration.

Lukaku endured a nightmare first spell at Chelsea which saw him make just 15 appearances for the club between 2011 and 2013 before joining Everton where he’s scored 61 goals in 117 games over the past three seasons.

The Belgian international has become one of the most feared strikers in the Premier League so he’d be an excellent addition to the Chelsea squad if they could get a deal agreed with the Merseysiders for his signature.

It’s sure to be a summer of upheaval at Stamford Bridge as Conte looks to re-shape a Chelsea squad which is in dire need of strengthening having put-up a dismal defence of their Premier League title.

The West Londoners currently languish way down in tenth position in the table and a full ten points adrift of the top four so they have virtually no chance of playing Champions League football again next season.

We’ll have to wait and see how many of Conte’s supposed targets will be prepared to move to Stamford Bridge without the prospect of playing in Europe’s elite competition next year but either way, it’s gearing up to be an exciting summer for Chelsea fans.
