Arsenal Eyeing Ambitious Big-Money Swoop For 38-Goal World Class Striker

Arsene Wenger will make a move for Robert Lewandiwski if the striker makes it clear he wants to leave Bayern Munich in search of a new challenge this summer

The opening of the summer transfer window is fast approaching so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal are linked with Robert Lewandowski….

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to make a move for Robert Lewandiwski if the striker makes it clear he wants to leave Bayern Munich in search of a new challenge this summer, according to a report in the Mirror.

Lewandowski made his name at Borussia Dortmund where he scored 103 goals in 187 games before joining their Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich on a free transfer in the summer of 2014.

The Polish international hitman has continued to smash the goals in at the Allianz Arena and has already scored 38 times in just 47 games in all competitions this season to help Bayern march towards yet another Bundesliga title while they are also in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

The 27-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best all-round strikers in world football so Bayern are understandably keen to keep hold of him but it looks like Lewandowski could be offered a fresh start in England this summer.

That’s because the Mirror claim that Arsene Wenger is hoping to finally sign a world class striker after seeing his Arsenal side once again come up short in their bid for major honours this season and Lewandowski is firmly on the Frenchman’s radar.

The newspaper says that Wenger is ready to make his move for the Pole if he makes it clear he’s willing to leave Bayern in search of a new challenge this summer – although it’s suggested that the German giants would demand upward of £50m for his signature.

We could certainly do with a player of Lewandowski’s class leading the line up front as our lack of killer instinct in front of goal has cost us dear once again this season and an upgrade on Olivier Giroud is needed if we’re to become champions next season.

Arsenal should be able to pay the required £50m fee Bayern would supposedly want as the Mirror claim that Wenger will have around £150m available to spend this summer, so it will come down to whether Lewandowski is ready for a fresh challenge.

These reports come just days after the striker hinted he’d like to try his luck in the Premier League, and with Pep Guardiola set to leave the Allianz at the end of the season, perhaps Lewandowski feels now is the time to try something new?

If that’s the case, I hope Arsenal do everything possible to sign him as he’d be the perfect fit for our team and we’d finally have a striker worthy of playing alongside the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
