Man Utd To Trump Arsenal & Chelsea With £40m Bid For Spanish International

Manchester United are aiming to beat Arsenal and Chelsea to the signing of Alvaro Morata by tabling a £40m bid for the sought after Juventus striker

The opening of the summer transfer window is fast approaching so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, the chase for Alvaro Morata hots up….

Manchester United are aiming to beat Arsenal and Chelsea to the signing of Alvaro Morata by tabling a £40m bid for the sought after Juventus striker, according to the Sun.

Morata joined Juve two years ago from Real Madrid and has enjoyed his time in Italy having helped the Turin giants secure consecutive Serie A titles but the Telegraph claim the La Liga outfit are now set to trigger a £23m buyback clause and sell the striker on at a profit.

The 23-year-old has attracted plenty of interest with the Sun claiming that Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have all been showing a keen interest in luring the Spanish striker to the Premier League this summer.

The newspaper suggests that Arsenal have already seen a £28m bid rejected by Madrid while Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is understood to be desperate to take the striker to Stamford Bridge after being the man in charge at Juve when they signed Morata in 2014.

However, it looks like United are ready to steal a march on their rivals as the Sun are citing reports coming from Spanish outlet Marca which claim the Red Devils are set to test Madrid’s resolve with a £40m offer.

Mourinho gave Morata his debut for Madrid during his time at the Bernabeu and it looks like the Portuguese coach is keen to be reunited with the young striker at Old Trafford this summer.

The so-called ‘Special One’ is expected to be busy in the market rebuilding the squad he’s inherited from Louis van Gaal and the Portuguese coach is likely to bring in a top class striker to help support Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial with Wayne Rooney’s future seemingly in a deeper role.

Morata is a hugely talent player and while he may not be a prolific striker just yet having scored just 27 goals in 93 appearances for Juventus since joining the club, he has all the attributes to become a top class forward.

Should United be successful in signing Morata ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea, the Spanish international will become their second signing of the summer after they confirmed the arrival of Villarreal defender Eric Bailly in a £30m deal on Wednesday.
