Mourinho To Wrap-Up Second Man Utd Signing Within 48 Hours

Jose Mourinho is set to wrap-up his second signing as Manchester United manager within the next 48 hours. Find out who the player is and all the details

The opening of the summer transfer window is almost upon us so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to wrap-up his move to Man Utd….

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to join Manchester United on a lucrative one-year deal within the next 48 hours as Jose Mourinho closes-in on making his second signing as manager, according to the Mirror.

Ibrahimovic became one of the most sought-after players in world football after confirming last month that he was leaving Paris Saint-Germain when his contract expires at the end of June [today].

A number of clubs were linked with the Swedish super-star but Man Utd soon emerged as the clear favourites with Ibrahimovic tipped to link-up with former boss Mourinho at Old Trafford.

Sky Sports News reported earlier this month that the 34-year-old was scheduled-in to undergo his medical with United after agreeing personal terms over a lucrative one-year contract with the Red Devils.

With Ibrahimovic’s deal with PSG due to expire on Friday, the Mirror claim that the striker will be free to complete his proposed switch to United and will pen a contract worth around £220,000-a-week within the next 48 hours.

The Swede took to his Instagram account yesterday to confirm that he’s about to begin a new journey in his illustrious career after posting a message saying:

“For me it is all about looking forward, not back. A new journey is starting.”

Once his switch to Old Trafford is complete, Ibrahimovic will become Mourinho’s second signing since becoming United manager with the Portuguese coach already bringing in Ivory Coast centre-back Eric Bailly from Villarreal.

Mourinho knows Ibrahimovic well having won the treble together at Inter Milan in 2010 and the ageing hitman will now spearhead the former Chelsea bosses new-look side at United next season.

The Red Devils could certainly do with a goal threat like Ibrahimovic as they only managed to score 49 league goals last season – which is one less than Ibrahimovic scored in all competitions on his own for PSG – so he’ll add a new dimension to Mourinho’s United.

He may be approaching his 35th birthday but Ibrahimovic is still a world class talent who’ll bring a lot to the United squad next season so I think he’ll prove to be an excellent short-term signing for the club.
